Photoshop CS3 and Illustrator CS3 Installation Errors

During Installation of any of Adobe CS Prdoucts, like Adobe Photoshop, Illustratro etc

If you find the error below, the solution is provided next to it.

critical errors were found in setup
-incompatible payloads already installed
please see the setup log file for details

You need to taka small step to complete the installation then. Please browse the directory

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe

and locate the folders caps, backup, installers

Simply cut these folders from this location and paste it some where else in your system. Then run the setup again, still if you find an error like

Another Installation is already running

Please check if the above 3 folders mentioned above are re-created ?
If they exist again, cut them again and paste into another location, remember don’t overwrite the first folders you cut from the same location.

After removing them for the second time, please restart your machine, then run the setup again. It will be proceeded smoothly, however after installation if you find any error in the running of these software Photoshop or Illustrator, you need to overwrite these three folders caps, backup, installers at the location

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe

With the first version of removed files ( you cut from the same location and placed at another location in your computer.)

You may ask me further, if your installation does not proceed well.

In the attached PDF file solution of same problem is given in Arabic language at some Arabic forums. Click the link below to see the attached file.

I found this issue to whom it may interest :

Open your IE, copy&paste the following code into the address bar and click go

    javascript:document.write(navigator.userAgent)

It will show you about your UserAgent value, just like ‘Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)’ or so.If you find something in a mass, that’s exactly the point.

The first bit above is a bit strange (I don’t understand what he meant by ‘if you fing something in a mass’ but it shouldn’t really matter since this step is informational only. The following is the bit that matters:

Now, please open the Registry Editor (start->run->regedit), locate the subkeys as follows

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\Post Platform

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User Agent\Post Platform

Remove all values except (Default) in each ‘Post Platform’ key, restart your computer. All things should go right.
